Product Design
Jan 2020 - April 2021

Overview
As the sole designer assigned to FAB through the agency, I worked across multiple digital touchpoints, marketing website, internal portal interfaces, Arabic mobile app, email communications, and a unified design system.
The challenge wasn’t designing individual screens, it was ensuring visual and functional consistency across an ecosystem of products and sister brands.
Designing at Ecosystem Scale
FAB operates across corporate, retail, and internal platforms. My role required aligning multiple surfaces under one coherent design language. Rather than treating each as isolated projects, I approached them as interconnected layers of a larger digital system.
Marketing Website & Sister Brands
I contributed to iterative improvements across the full marketing site while simultaneously establishing foundational UI standards that would scale across FAB’s digital properties and affiliated brands.
This included:
Refining navigation and information hierarchy
Standardizing UI components
Designing responsive layouts
Creating reusable structures for future pages
The objective was long-term consistency, not one-off redesigns.

Internal Portal Interfaces
Alongside customer-facing experiences, I designed internal interfaces used by bank teams.
While the functional requirements were complex, the goal remained the same: clarity, consistency, and usability across operational workflows.
The internal UI aligned with the broader design system, reinforcing ecosystem-level coherence.

Arabic Mobile App (RTL Adaptation)
I localized the existing English mobile banking app into Arabic, redesigning components to accommodate right-to-left behavior and Arabic typographic nuances.
This wasn’t a simple flip, it required:
Rethinking layout balance in RTL
Adjusting spacing and hierarchy
Ensuring usability within Arabic reading patterns
The result was a culturally and functionally aligned mobile experience for Arabic users.

Unified Design System
To support scale, I built a comprehensive design system from scratch in Sketch.
It covered:
Core UI components
Typography and color systems
Layout structures
Reusable components and patterns across marketing sites and internal platforms
The system extended beyond FAB to sister brands, ensuring cross-brand cohesion while allowing flexibility where needed.
Documentation was structured for scalability, enabling future teams to build without recreating foundational elements.

Email Communications
I also designed email newsletters aligned with FAB’s digital visual language, maintaining consistency across customer touchpoints.

This project shaped my approach to multi-surface product thinking.
Working across marketing, internal tools, mobile, and system foundations reinforced the importance of:
Scalable design systems
Cross-platform alignment
Designing for organizational complexity, not just screens
It was my first experience designing at enterprise scale and it laid the foundation for how I approach product ecosystems today.
